Luminescence – Matthew 15:21-39

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 15:21-39
Service Type:

Luminescence: light created by virtue of that contained within the object itself. Ps 36:9 “for with You is the fountain of life, in Your light do we see light.” The Reformation itself could be summarily understood as redressing heretical answers to this question: “where does intellectual and spiritual light come from?” Is our mantra to be: “Sola Scriptura”, or is the source of illumination most fundamentally deposited in – The magisterium, contemporary sources, reason, scholarship, extraneous literature, consensus of opinion, science, tradition, historical record, philosophy, archeology, culture, or the preacher? Van Til compared using reason to prove the existence of God as absurd as using a flashlight to find the sun. This message is a snapshot of the luminescent quality of the scripture considering 3 literary details in just one chapter of Matthew.
